The major chemical components of dill oil are d-carvone, eugenol, dillapiol, dhc, terpinene, limonene, and myristicin.

Physical Properties of Dill Oil

Dill oil has a grass-like smell and is pale yellow in color with a watery viscosity.

Production of Dill Oil

Originally found in Southwest Asia, Dill is an annual or biennial herb which grows about one meter. The Dill plant has green feathery leaves and its flowers are in yellow color facilitated with tiny compressed seeds.

    Chemical Formula: (CH3)2SiO

    Physical Properties: It is Translucent, Colourless, Odourless, tasteless, viscous liquid.

    Solubility: Soluble in Chloroform, in solvent ether and in benzene but insoluble in water and in alcohol.
